Guilfield Baptist Church

Part of the church history is unknown.  It is unclear as to when Guilfield Baptist Church was first organized, but we know it was prior to the building of the current church.  It is said the church first started somewhere in the town of  “Millwood” in a field.  Later in 1865 it was built here on this property, and called “Guilfield Primitive Baptist Church”.

Guilfield grew under each of these fine leaders Elder Robert  Cross, Elder John T. Williams, Elder Lawrence Ford, Elder R.E. Laws, Elder Isham Williams, Elder Lindsay Green, Elder Wilbur Bryant, Rev. Harold L. Brown and Rev. Matthew Croons, whom God called home in February 2026.  We pray God continues to let Guilfield be the church He wants it to be.
