Vice Moderator
Rev. Dr. Mary J. White-Patterson currently serves as the Pastor of the Martin Luther King Baptist Church in Harrisburg, PA.
She is a 2003 graduate of Grace Bible Institute and School of Theology, with a Bachelor of Ministry in Biblical Studies; and a 2011 graduate with a Master of Ministry in Biblical Studies and a 2009 graduate of the American Baptist Christian leadership Institute (CLI) and recently received her Doctorate Degree from the Guildfield School of Theology, Front Royal VA.
In December of 2015, Rev. Patterson retired from the Pennsylvania House of Representatives after 25 years, serving as the Manager of Tourism and Recreational Development Committee.

In August 2007 Rev. Patterson was one of the 1st women to be ordained by the Second National Ketoctan Baptist Association of PA, VA and MD. Pastor Patterson is the first woman to be elected to the Moderators’ staff as 2nd Vice Moderator and now serves as Vice Moderator of this great Association. She also served as a member of the Interdenominational Ministerium of Greater Harrisburg, and the President of the Minister’s Wives, Widows and Deaconess of the Second National Ketoctan Baptist Association. She is also the former President and a member of the great Scott White Family Ministries of Steelton, PA, the largest gospel singing family in the nation.
Rev. Patterson was called to Pastor the First Zion Baptist Church of Middletown, PA. in November of 2008 and was installed as full time Pastor on May 31, 2009. She follows the footsteps of her late father, the Rev. Dr. Scott A, White Sr. who also pastored First Zion for 18 years before founding the New Hope Living Baptist Church, Steelton, PA and now the footsteps of her niece the former pastor of MLKBC the Rev. Dr. Lavette R. Paige after her retirement.
She has been blessed with the greatest husband next to God, First Gentleman Norman J. Patterson and is the mother of 5 children, ShaKira, Charese, Dwight, Kijafa and Chanel’ the grandmother of 3 handsome grandsons, KaMar’, Kimarea’, and Devin; 4 precious princess grand-daughters, LaLah, Daylisha, Kaylani and Ayleyah and 2 dogs KiKi and Buttah.
Although she is very busy with family and church – she manages to stay focused by maintaining communion with God through prayer, singing and meditation on the Word of God.
